How Booking With Me Works

In this post, I wanted to explain a bit more about how booking with an independent travel agent, and specifically me, actually works, from getting started with the quote and search process, to actually completing a booking.

Before I get started, I do just want to say that that service is completely free. I receive the commission from your travel booking, but you do not have to pay me any fees for quote requests or the booking procedure - you will simply be responsible for the cost of whatever travel arrangements you are booking!

There is also no obligation to book either. If I provide you with a quote and you change your mind, then you do not have to book the travel arrangements you received a quote for.

There are a few ways you can contact me to ask me to start searching for travel arrangements, and I will provide all the necessary contact details shortly. You can know as much or as little about your travel arrangements, and I will still be happy to help you. No matter what information you have, you can email me or send me a text message. You can provide me with all the information regarding what you are looking for with your travel arrangements, and this can be for any holiday type or holiday extra. I will get back to you to let you know I have received your message too!

I do ask that you only use these contact details for travel and quote related enquiries as they are my personal contact details. If you ever email me and do not receive a response, try messaging me using my phone number (I am on WhatsApp too) as it may just mean your email went into my junk folder and I didn't spot it!

Alternatively, under the 'Request a quote' tab on this website, you can fill out the form provided by clicking on the relevant button. There are multiple sections to this form. The first section is just some of your personal details, including those necessary for me to contact you when necessary. All of the information submitted using this form will be kept safe and only be seen by me. It will also only be used in the relevant way, and no booking will ever be made using your information until you are ready to do so. This section also covers a little bit about the type of travel you may be looking for and what you enjoy travel-wise. From here, the following sections and questions are optional so that you can provide the information that is relevant to your enquiry. There are sections with questions about hotels, flights, cruises, car hire, holiday extras, etc and plenty of opportunities for you to provide the information you want to.

From here, no matter how you have requested your quote, I will get searching for you! I have access to a range of suppliers for which I have my own personal agent log in, and I can start browsing for the holiday that meets your requirements as well as finding you the best deal. If you have provided me with the exact resort, airline, and holiday type you want, then I will look into this for you. On the other hand, you may have simply given me the brief of 'a week's holiday somewhere hot in May half term'. In this case, I will get researching and find you some of the best options I can, and it might be the case I send over multiple quotes so you can see a few options.

After I have done my research and found the travel arrangements that fit your brief, I will email over your quote. I cannot send quotes via text message, WhatsApp, or other social media/messaging platforms - they all have to be sent over by email. Then, the next step is over to you! Take a little look at what I have sent over and see what you think.

If the quote isn't quite what you are looking for and you want me to have another look for something different, then simply send me a message back stating what you want me to look into, and I will get back to researching, and send an updated quote to you.

If you receive the quote, you are happy with everything on there, and you are ready to book then that's great! I will email over the relevant terms and conditions for the supplier your holiday is being organised by, as well as any terms relating to who will be taking payment. Once you have read these through and are happy to proceed, let me know and I will arrange a time with you when it is convenient to call to make the booking.

I like to have customers on the phone when I book because it means everything goes through a bit more seamlessly and you are right there should anything change before booking and for me to to be able to communicate any relevant information the supplier wants you to know before booking. It also means you know exactly when the booking is being made, can communicate to me when you have sent payment through, and get a quick response to any of your questions.

What will happen is, once I've got you on the phone and loaded up your holiday and communicated any necessary information about your booking, you will receive a pre-booking payment link via email. I will let you know on the phone as soon as this has been sent through. It will simply be a case of clicking the link to input your payment details and submit the booking, telling me you have done so, and then I can click confirm booking on my screen.

Sometimes the link will be from InteleTravel, which is the agency I am an independent travel agent with, and other times is may come from a specific supplier. It all just depends on who is responsible for taking payment, and no matter who it is, your information will always be safe and all pre-booking payment links will be secure.

If your travel arrangements have a deposit option and you choose to opt for this instead of paying everything up front, I will provide you with the relevant information and timelines for paying the remainder of the booking. You will receive another link by email to pay this remaining amount. You will receive email confirmation of all the relevant booking information. This may be sent to me in some cases, and so I will send it straight on to you, or the supplier(s) of your travel arrangement may send it to you themselves.

If your arrangements use multiple suppliers, then these will have to be booked separately. Most of the time, I will be able to find your travel arrangements with the same partner, and book this as a package. However, if different suppliers offer the best price for different elements of your package or if some elements cannot be booked through the same supplier, then I have to leave at least 24 hours between booking each element. I will explain this all to you though should your travel arrangements need to be booked in this way!

Another way of booking is by using my InteleTravel website. This acts like a normal holiday search engine and is great if you want to be more in control of your holiday research. Simply click here to be taken to this website, and get searching. You will be asked to register but there is still no obligation to book and this is just so that any potential bookings get linked to me!

After the booking, I can be as helpful or as present as you need me to be. I will be there to answer any questions and can help with different elements of the holiday build-up if you need me to, such as checking you in for your flights if this is something you are interested in.
